A Lesson in Humility

Yesterday Chad and I braved the ridiculously cold temperatures and went to Jack's after church to watch the Steelers game. The Steelers lost, which was slightly depressing, but not nearly as depressing as a conversation that I had with the hostess. This girl was likely in college--I would have guessed her to be 19 or 20. Here's how our conversation went:

Hostess: Do you by chance have a daughter named Alex?

Me: No, sorry, I don't.

Hostess: Oh, I thought maybe you did because you look just like one of my friends.

Ouch. Seriously, that hurt. She clearly thought I was the mother of someone who is probably between the ages of 18 and 21!!! Do I really look like I could be old enough to have a college aged child???? ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help--I think I need a makeover!!!

You look great...don't change a thing!!! However, its humbling to realize we're practically old enough to actually have a child that old!!!!

1- you absolutely DO NOT look like you could have a kiddo that age.

that being said.....
2- your post did literally make me laugh out loud. I'm laughing WITH you not at you. Honestly!!!

You do not look older than 27 or 28 so just forget about her!
