Christmas Spirit

Let me just start by saying that Christmas is most definitely my favorite holiday of the year. I love giving gifts to the people I love, I love Christmas decorations, and I love celebrating the birth of Christ. With that said, I'm having a really hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this yuletide season! I'm not sure exactly what it is, butI think maybe it has to do with the fact that I have been so consumed with other events for the last 4 months that I just can't seem to switch gears!

Tonight I went to a very nice holiday party with a bunch of ladies from work, and while I had a lovely time hanging out with friends, it still didn't feel very Christmas-y to me. Maybe it will be better once we actually get a tree and some decorations put up, although I'm not sure when that's actually going to happen. With Chad sick in bed all of last weekend, tree shopping certainly wasn't an option, and this weekend he is going to Pittsburgh to watch his beloved Steelers play. Time is running short, so we may have to forgo the annual visit to the Christmas Tree Farm this year!

Maybe doing more Christmas shopping or actually get started on my Christmas cards would help my holiday spirit. Maybe I just need to listen to some Christmas music. Maybe it just needs to snow a few inches. Whatever needs to happen needs to happen soon--only 20 more days until Christmas!

I totally hear you. Life's been too hectic for me to do much in the way of Christmas preparation other than some online gift selection! In fact, I'm not even sure I'll pull any of the decorations out this year (no journey group party to host, you know!). It makes me sad, but at the same time, I know I'll be awfully happy when I don't have to take them down in January. I dread that part. We're just not going to be home enough this month to enjoy them. I counted and we'll be gone just as many days as we're home this month!

I'm so with you about this year... I can't get with it either! I doubt we'd have a tree if I wouldn't have two heart broken little boys! :-)

And I thought I was just getting to old thinking about all the "work" for Christmas. Well, I am doing less, but I will have a tree up, I just don't know what size now.sa
