A Parent's Worst Nightmare

Someone sent me this picture via e-mail the other day and it made me laugh really hard. Can you imagine how embarrassed you'd be as a parent if you received a copy of your child's "goofy" class picture and your child was the first kid in the front row?

Oh my. That had to be horrifying.

Wow, kids sure do love the goofy pictures. Ray was so anxious to get through "serious" ones the other day so we could get to the "goofy" ones. Fortunately, he just wanted to cross his eyes and stick his tongue out. Tell me this was just a forward and not a friend who had emailed this!

I'm pretty sure the person who sent this to me didn't actually know the kid in the front row and just received it as a forwarded e-mail. I had to laugh because Chad said that if he were the parent he wouldn't have been embarrassed--he would have thought it was funny! I think this speaks volumes about the conflicts we would have had if we had been parents!

This is a long time to respond to the picture, but I am telling you that is the type and even more that we see everyday in the school I work in. It is so sad that these children think that they are incharge in every way. It is frightening to think that a good number of these kids will not ever graduate or go on to college, but the worse is that they are planning their babies...this is an elementary school. It is discouraging. Old teacher
